Belleville East Lancer Wall of Fame
The Belleville East Lancer Wall of Fame originated in 2004 under the leadership of Mr. Bruce Perkins. Its purpose is to recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the honor of Belleville East High School through outstanding achievement in the community and our society. The honorees have demonstrated leadership and character resulting in meaningful achievements and have contributed to society in a manner deserving of such recognition.
Belleville East is proud to have an opportunity to recognize the inductees who have made significant contributions in their chosen fields and have carried a small part of Belleville East with them on their journeys.
The Lancer Wall of Fame Committee has four categories through which an individual can be recognized: alumni, faculty, support staff, and community members-at-large. Nominations for the next class of honorees will open on March 1, 2024, and will close on May 6, 2024. Return to this page to submit your nomination after March 1st.
Nomination criteria
Category 1: Former students:
- Member of a class that graduated five or more years ago.
- A graduate who attended Belleville East for at least two years.
- Achievement is so outstanding as to eliminate any question as to selection.
- A demonstrated record of service to others and involvement in endeavors that enhance the community
Category 2: Former teachers:
- Employment at Belleville East for at least five years.
- A passage of at least five years since retirement or departure.
- Achievement so outstanding as to eliminate any question as to the selection
- A demonstrated record of service to others and involvement in endeavors that enhance the community
Category 3: Former School-related personnel:
- Outstanding performance as an administrator, board member, or non-teaching staff.
- Employment at Belleville East for at least five years.
- A passage of at least five years since retirement or departure.
- Achievement so outstanding as to eliminate any question as to selection.
- A demonstrated record of service to others and involvement in endeavors that enhance the community
Category 4: Community member-at-large:
- Community member who has made exceptional contributions to Belleville East and has demonstrated a record of service to others with involvement in endeavors enhancing the community
- Support of Belleville East is so outstanding as to eliminate any question as to selection.
The selection committee consists of ten voting members (Belleville East current staff, retired staff, or alumni). To be selected, a nominee must receive at least seven of the ten possible votes.
Inductees are recognized during pre-game at a home football game during the 2024 season. The date is to be determined.
