Little Theatre is an organization that promotes theatrical events on the Belleville West campus.  The Little Theatre organization also sponsors monthly informational meetings (held in the chorus room on the first Wednesday of each month), social events, and a spring honors banquet.

The Belleville West Theatre Department sponsors five major productions each year.  Open auditions are held for each show, and all West students are welcome to try out.  In addition, the theatre program offers a wide variety of backstage opportunities:  students build and decorate the sets for each production, run sound and light equipment for performances, organize and construct costumes and prop pieces, create artwork for programs and work with actors to implement make-up designs.

The theatre season opens with An Evening of One Acts.  Each of these three shows features roles for approximately 10 to 25 students.  Since only freshmen and sophomores are eligible to audition, this is an excellent chance for underclassmen to appear in a production.

The annual Fall Play is the season's first full-length production.  This play is open to students at all grade levels and typically requires a large technical crew to create its elaborate set.

The Children's Play, with several matinee performances for district elementary schools, usually features a large cast, an extensive crew, and a small pit orchestra.  This show allows performers and audience members alike to experience fanciful costumes, whimsical song and dance, colorful characters and magical stories.

The Contest Play offers West actors and technicians the unique opportunity to compete against other area schools.  The show is carefully timed to fit within the 40-minute limit, and the set must be designed to travel for competition.

The final production of the Belleville West theatre season is the Spring Musical.  This show generally features the biggest cast of the year, as well as a large technical crew and a full pit orchestra.
