The Belleville West Maroons Baseball program visited Abraham Lincoln Elementary School on Friday, March 27th as part of an All-Star Reading day. The Maroons sent 10 players to participate by reading to a variety of classes at the elementary school. While attending the player’s read to two classrooms and answered questions from the students.

The visit was organized by Rachel Wunderlich, 5th grade teacher at Abraham Lincoln School. Abe Lincoln invited the baseball players to the school to help connect younger students with older role models. The school hopes to bring in other role models to share their experiences and reinforce the importance of reading.
