Mardi Gras Field Show and Parade, Pinckneyville
Saturday, October 29, 2011
Report: West Campus, 12:00 pm
Dress: Full dress uniform, marching shoes, black socks, white gloves, West Band shirt.
Reminder: Make sure that your instrument, percussion and flag equipment is in the best working condition before Saturday; reeds, valves, clean lead pipes, and trombone slides, etc.
Also: Stay organized. Our goal is to march the best show and parade of the season. Take responsibility for your instrument, music, uniform, and band schedule. We will be very proud of the West Band on Saturday. Brass, Winds, Percussion, Guard, and Drum Majors and Staff will do our very best on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Reminder: Nathan Thomas and Natalie Walsh; take instruments for the Cross Country members, Austin Lawrence and Nathan Gonzalez. Emily Fulton will bring her instrument. Each student will bring shoes and socks. Mrs. Lawrence will bring these uniforms and hats from the meet in Quincy.
Field Show Performance: Pinckneyville H.S., 4:44 pm
Dinner: A meal will be provided by the West Band Parents following the field show performance. Of course, you may bring a snack, drink, or fruit for the trip. Concessions will be available at Pinckneyville H.S. As always, please thank our parents for the work in support of our band and performances.
Parade: 7:00 pm
There will be 22 bands competing in this parade and awards will be presented following the parade at the County Fairgrounds. Reminder: We will use 3 glow sticks per person for the parade. Section leaders: make sure that these are used in a uniform and consistent way within your section. We will be judged for our appearance and musicianship in the parade. Our tradition: unified, professional, and first-class in our appearance and sound.

Varsity Home Football Concessions
As a primary source of funding for the West Marching Band, our parents provide supervision and
help for the concession stands at West home football games. Home football dates for the current year:
