Announcements for Monday, November 7th, 2011

 

 Science Olympiad will meet Wednesday (11-7) in Q306 at 3:30pm. Be ready to start working on events. We will meet every Wednesday from November 9th until the SIUE Regional (2/18/12). An itinerary for the remainder of the season will be handed out at that time. ~ Mrs. Kniepkamp & Mr. Hennon

 

 

Attention Comic Book Club Members: We will have our next meeting TODAY (11-7) after school in D204 to discuss Teen Titans; please pick up your book from me if you have yet to do so. T-shirts will also be distributed at this meeting. Please bring your money if you have not yet paid. We will be discussing our graphic novel and planning our holiday activities. As always, new members are always welcome! ~ Mrs. Hayes

 

 

 

Attention Fellowship of Christian Athletes: The next FCA meeting will be Monday (11-7) night in the cafeteria. The food, fun, and fellowship begins at 7:09 pm. It will be "Baked Goods Night" so bring your favorite baked goods to share. The meeting topic is "Friendship." ~ Mr. Patton

 

 

H.O.P.E. Club: We will meet this Wednesday (11-9) at 8:00am in P103. Remember that permission slips and money for the City Museum must be turned in by this Thursday (11-10.) ~ Ms, Keim & Mrs. Brown

 

 

Attention all JROTC members! Our next meeting will be Monday (11-7) from 3:30 to 4:30pm on the lower terrace. We will be learning drill from a guest speaker in preparation for the ceremony November 10th. Dress will be your normal JROTC polo and dark pants. ~ Mrs. Belline

 

Lifesavers: We have received the Operation Teen Safe Driving Grant.  Please attend TOMORROW (11-8) at 8:00am in Q120 for more details.  We will need to set up committees to reach out to other clubs for help.  Here's your chance to promote:  "Driving for MY LIFE and YOURS! ~ Mrs. Hettenhausen

 

Octagon Club:  If you are interested in ordering a sweatshirt, please give money to Mrs. Seneczyn in B-bldg. or Mrs. Baldus in O103.  All money is due on Wednesday (11-9). Sweatshirts are $26 + $3 for name and t-shirts are $14.  Checks can be made out to Belleville East Octagon Club.

 

To All Military Connection students and staff that have a deployed family member: Please come join us in D104 this Thursday (11-10) 1st hour, to make cards for any family member/friend that is deployed.  Supplies will be available.  If you are unable to join us and would like to participate, please give us the information so we can still make the card.  You may put the information in Mrs. Burch's or Mrs. Belline's mailbox.  See Mrs. Burch in D104 for a pass. ~ Mrs. Burch

Attention Seniors: Senior photos are on display in the C-Node window this week. Check out your photo, and please make sure your name is spelled correctly. See Ms. Davis in D305 with any corrections. ~ Ms. Davis

Announcements for Thursday, November 10th, 2011

 

 

The Career & College Group, “Decisions—Post 12th Grade” will meet TODAY (11-10) in the library’s computer lab #2 during the A half of lunch hours.  Participants should report directly to the library, instead of going to Study Hall.   If you have questions about the group, please see Mr. Wilder or Mrs. Brown in the Counseling Center. ~ Mr. Wilder

 

 

The Lancer staff meets Tuesday (11-15) at 7:45am in D207, articles are due. ~ Ms. McGee

 

 

Art Club:  T-shirts are $10 and sweatshirts are $20; Sign up in Q103—money is due next Tuesday (11-15.) ~ Mrs. Santos

 

 

The newly formed East Robotics Club is open to all students with an interest in building, programming, and operating robots of any kind. The first ever meeting will be this Tuesday (11-15) at 3:30pm in Q205. ~ Mr. Hodson

 

 

The Health Education club will have a meeting at 8:00am on Tuesday (11-15) in G101. We will have t-shirts, discuss the Thanksgiving with a Twist, and news coverage.  Please see Mrs. Templin in S204 if you cannot attend. ~ Mrs. Templin

 

 

Attention FBLA members! There will be a meeting on Wednesday (11-16) at 8:00am in Q-121. We will be discussing a number of service projects for Christmas and competition categories. If you are taking a business class or will be next semester, you are welcome to join. See you at 8:00am sharp next Wednesday. ~ FBLA Officers, Mrs. Siebers & Mr. Crask

 

 

Winter Workouts for all boys interested in playing baseball will begin on Monday (11-14) at 3:30pm in the weight room.  Workouts will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.  We will meet in the weight room at 3:30pm on those days to begin strength training, conditioning and speed and agility workouts.  Don't forget to bring warm clothes as we do go outside most of the time.  See Coach Blomberg if you have any questions. ~ The Baseball Coaches

 

 

There is a girl’s soccer meeting for anyone interested in playing indoor soccer this winter TODAY (11-10.)   The meeting will take place at the soccer office (which is down by the weight room). There will be a meeting before school at 8:00am or after school at 3:45pm. You must attend one of these meetings to play indoor soccer. If you can not make the meeting please contact Coach McDonald. ~ Coach McDonald

 

 

Congratulations to the Renaissance Students of the Month! They are: Freshmen—Ashley Mullen; Sophomore—Mandy Rose; Junior—Kaitlyn Bair & Senior—Quinton Kornegay. They will be going to lunch in a limo on Thursday, November 17th.

The DECA Thanksgiving Food Drive has begun and we are off to a great start but ends TOMORROW (11-10.) The more donations we receive, the more families we can provide a Thanksgiving Dinner.   Be sure to bring in your donated items and drop them off in your teacher’s room or bring them to O-104. Thanks to all of you that have donated already. ~ DECA

 

 

 

JROTC Club will be attending the board meeting on Monday, November 21st to propose a JROTC Program for District 201.  TODAY (11-9), during all lunch hours, we will have a table set up for anyone who would like to see a program here at East.  We need your support by signing the petition for the board meeting.  ~ Mrs. Burch & Mrs. Belline 

 

 

The Belleville East H.O.P.E. Club would like to say a special thank you to the many students and employees who purchased Krispy Kremes over the last few days. We sold a whopping 140 dozen donuts making our club fundraiser a huge success. ~ Ms. Keim & Mrs. Brown
