The following colleges will have a representative in the Counseling Office next week:

Juniors and seniors are invited to attend two upcoming college fairs: This Sunday (10-16) St. Louis University will host a college fair from Noon-3:00pm at SLU’s Simon Recreation Center & on Tuesday (10-18) SIUE will host the IACAC College Fair in SIUE’s Morris University Ctr. from 6:00-7:30pm. ~ Mrs. Douglas

 

JROTC: Polo shirts have arrived in time for club photos! Come to D104 to pick up your shirt and to pick up your permission slip for the Yearbook Photo! JROTC yearbook photo is scheduled for Monday (10-17) at 8:45am in the PAC. You must have a pass to leave class. ~ Mrs. Burch & Mrs. Belline

Attention all Students and Staff: The Health Education Club is providing Discount Cards to all students and staff. These cards are being offered to encourage everyone to begin or continue to make healthy choices. The club welcomes everyone to take advantage of the discounts offered on the back of each card including the 14-day free trial membership to the YMCA. Eat right, Exercise regularly, and make healthy choices . . . The results will surprise you! The cards should be given out by your 2nd hour teacher today. ~ Belleville East Health Education Club

 

Attention all boys interested in trying out for basketball: If you are in a fall sport or did not attend the meeting you need to see Coach Hoffman ASAP for the paperwork.   Tryouts are November 7th! All paper work must be turned in and you must have a current physical on file before the 7th. ~ Coach Hoffman

 

Students who ride the bus: The assembly TODAY (10-14) will begin at 2:00pm. Attendance is voluntary. Please be aware that only 4 buses will be available to transport students home at that time.   If you intend to leave at 2:00pm, you need to make every effort to find alternative means of transportation to get you home. Overcrowding on the buses could be a problem at 2:00 and some students may not be able to ride as a result. All the buses will run at the end of the assembly at 3:25pm. ~ Mr. Perkins

Assembly – 2:00-3:25 p.m. (students may leave campus at 2:00pm or stay for assembly until 3:25pm. Students not staying for the assembly MUST leave campus immediately at 2:00pm.)

 

For those attending the Homecoming Dance! The dance will be on Saturday (10-15) from 7:00 - 11:00pm in the gymnasium. 

  • Please bring your ID to the dance.  No entry after 9:00 p.m.
  • Voting for the King and Queen will take place at the dance.  You cannot vote without an ID.
  • Homecoming is semi-formal: NO JEANS or inappropriate attire. 
  • No inappropriate dancing.
  • East is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Arrange a ride in advance.  Any student left on the premises 30 minutes after the dance will be escorted to the police station where they will wait for a ride.  That student will also lose the privilege to attend future dances.

Students planning to attend tonight's football game should arrange transportation for after the game ahead of time.  Students and other guests at athletic events are not permitted to remain on school property after the events.  Students and guests are not permitted to hang out on the properties of surrounding businesses, such as McDonald's, Taco Bell and Shop-n-Save.  Students who hang out on these properties after the game may be banned from attending future East sporting events and face other school discipline.  In addition, businesses surrounding the school have authorized the police to arrest anyone who hangs out on their properties for trespassing.

Attention all students that are interested in wrestling this season: You must attend one of the informational meetings TOMORROW (10-18), in the gym annex lobby, at either 8:00am or 3:30pm. You must have a current sports physical on file in the nurse’s office before the season starts November 7th. ~ Coach Brown

Ticket prices are $4 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens; sales are cash only and no refunds given. This game is likely to be a sell out so buy your tickets this week.

The Career & College Group, “Decisions—Post 12th Grade” will meet TOMORROW (10-20) in the library’s computer lab #2 during the A half of lunch hours. Participants should report directly to the library, instead of going to Study Hall.   If you have questions about the group, please see Mr. Wilder or Mrs. Brown in the Counseling Center. ~ Mr. Wilder

Do you like helping others, especially animals? Are you pretty good in science? A future in veterinary science may be the career for you. Come learn more about becoming a veterinarian or a vet tech on Monday, October 31, as part of the “Career Chats” series in the Counseling Center. There is a MANDATORY MEETING for any sophomore, junior, or senior girls wishing to try out for basketball on Tuesday (10-25.) You can attend the meeting at 8:00am OR at 3:30pm in F200. The meeting should last approximately 30 minutes. Don't be late!
