Announcements for Tuesday, May 15, 2012

 

Students:  On Friday and next Monday, during finals, if you do not have a final exam scheduled at noon, you must leave campus.  You will not be allowed to hang out on campus to socialize with your friends.  Some buses will be available at noon.  Otherwise, make alternate arrangements for transportation ~ The Administration

 

Students:  On Friday and next Monday, during finals, the cafeteria will be open in the morning for breakfast and after that the snack bar will be open until noon.  At noon all food services will cease.  On Tuesday of next week, the cafeteria will be open for breakfast only. ~ The Administration

 

STRIDE: Our end of the year party will be this Friday at Pizza Hut across the street, after the third hour final. Stop by my room to sign up. ~ Mr. Boyt

 

Students: All students need to pick any medications they have in the nurse’s office. It must be picked up as soon as possible. ~ The Nurses

 

The last Ecology Club: Our last meeting of the year will be tomorrow in G201 at 8:00 a.m.  Come say goodbye to the seniors and wish them an environmentally friendly future. There is a campus habitat work day today at 3:30 p.m.  Meet in G201.  An official from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service will be here to assist with our Bird Sanctuary Plans.

Students: Do you like to make people laugh?  Does everyone tell you to stop being so melodramatic?  Would you like to practice your announcer voice?  Then, you might be perfect for the Belleville East Speech Team.  We will have an informational meeting after school in the PAC today. ~ Mr. Hennon and Mr. Rogers

 

Juniors: If you have been accepted into Marketing Co-op for next year and are in need of a job or wanting to change jobs, come see me in O104 before Thursday.  ~ Mr. Crask

 

Interact Club: We need to know how many of you can go to the Grizzles game on June 11thThe game is at 7:00pm. Please let Mrs. Watts or Mrs. Scaiefe know by Friday May 18th.  ~ Mrs. Watts and Mrs. Scaiefe

Seniors:  Wednesday, May 16, is your day to proclaim your allegiance to your new university, armed service, or career.  Seniors only may wear a college tee shirt, armed forces tee shirt, or a tee shirt representing your chosen field.  Show your pride in your accomplishments at East and your chosen path of the future.  Appropriate dress code bottoms must be worn and no holes or inappropriate comments on the shirts.  ~ Mr. Perkins

 

Blue Revolution:  We will meet in the choir room after school on Wednesday, May 16th, not the 17th for a costume fitting, discussion of summer plans and distribution of the handbook for the 2012-2013 season.  If you are able to pay your fees at this time, please bring a check.  ~ Mrs. Netemeyer

 

Juniors:   Do you want to make awesome memories in your senior year? It is not too late to join in the fun!! Sign-ups for Senior Olympics will continue until the last day of school.  See me in Q213 to sign up. Do not miss out on the most amazing event of the year. ~ Mrs. Downs

 

Congratulations: The Girls Varsity Track team finished 5th out of 18 schools at the very competitive IHSA 3A Normal West Sectional.   The following young ladies will be representing Belleville East at the State Track meet this Friday and Saturday:

Jessica McCaskill - 100 Meter High Hurdles, 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 Relays

Keanna McIntyre - 400 Meter Dash and the 4 x 400 Relay

Chante Mosby - High Jump, 4x100 and 4 x 200 Relays

Aniecia Brewster - 200 Meter Dash, and the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 Relays

Anna Gailius - Pole Vault

Taylor Sunkett - 4 x 400 Relay

Jasmine Gilmore - 4 x 400 Relay

Announcements for Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Students:  This Friday and next Monday during finals, the cafeteria will be open in the morning for breakfast and after that, the snack bar and one lunch line will be open until noon.  At noon all food services will cease.  On Tuesday of next week, there will be no cafeteria services. ~ The Administration

 

Students: Study halls and PE classes will not meet over final exams on May 18th, 21st and 22nd.  Students with Learning Strategies (LS) classes need to follow the directions provided by their teacher.  In general, students with hour-long LS classes will report the entire hour during final exams.  Students with ½ hour LS classes will report for half of the class period during exams.  Your teacher will make you aware of the specific expectations for their LS class.  During the time you are released from LS and on-campus, you are expected to be in the cafeteria or terrace areas only. ~ The Administration

 

2012-2013 Football Cheerleaders: We will meet on Thursday, May 17th at 3:30 in the gym annex for an hour.  Please stop by S107 if you have a conflict.  ~ Coach Hemmer

 

Students: Just a reminder the Senior Honors Ceremony is tomorrow night, May 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the PAC.

Announcements for Thursday, May 17, 2012

 

 

Students: Be sure to say goodbye this week to our foreign exchange guest this year from Austria, Mr. Vincent Gudenus!  Vincent will return home later this summer.  Hopefully, you’ve had a chance to get to know him and to learn what a fine young man he is, and a great ambassador for the country of Austria.  We’re grateful that he was willing to come to East, and congratulate him for fitting in so well with our Lancer family.  We wish him a safe journey back home.  Auf wiedersehen, Vincent! ~ Mr. Wilder

 

Young Democrat: We will have our weekly meeting today at 2:00 in 0206 to discuss membership drives and political activities for the summer. ~ Mr. McEvilly
