DAY 2- MAKE A CHANGE
EMPATHY- Identifying and understanding others feelings in order to get along better.
What better way to be show empathy to your peers than to donate this holiday season. Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes is one of the best ways to show compassion and understanding.
HERE IS A STORY OF A BELLEVILLE EAST STUDENT THAT WE HELPED SEVERAL YEARS AGO.
THIS YOUNG MAN WAS EXTREMELY LIKABLE. HE WAS POLITE, TRIED HARD, AND WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE OTHERS FEEL GOOD. THE ONE THING THAT NONE OF US KNEW WAS THAT HE WAS LIVING IN A HOTEL ROOM WITH 5 OTHER SIBLINGS, A PARENT, AND SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE THAT SORT OF CAME IN AND OUT.
EXACTLY, A HOTEL ROOM WITH JUST 2 BEDS!
HE NEVER COMPLAINED, JUST FELT SAD SOMETIMES AND ASKED FOR A LITTLE HELP SOMETIMES.
WE WERE ABLE TO ASSIST THIS YOUNG MAN SO THAT HE COULD HAVE A CHIRSTMAS. HE WAS ABLE TO PICK OUT SEVERAL GIFTS FOR HIMSELF AND FOR HIS SIBLINGS!
THANKS FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE! WE APPRECIATE ALL DONATIONS! TALK TO YOUR PARENTS AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH AS A SCHOOL, THEY MAY BE INTERESTED IN DONATING AND DEMONSTRATING EMPATHY THEMSELVES! ~ Mrs. Seneczyn
