Health Office

The school's nurses are on duty during school hours. They will help the student to determine if he/she needs temporary treatment or if the student's parents are to be notified. If a student finds it necessary to see the nurse, he must report to his teacher and request a pass to the Health Office.

Students are not to report to the nurse's office between classes except, of course, in the case of an emergency. If the nurse is not available in her office, the student should report immediately to the assistant principals' office. By state law, the Health Office cannot serve as a clinic, and the nurse can provide first aid for minor injuries and emergency treatment only.

Administering Medicines to Students

Students should not take medication during school hours or during school-related activities unless it is necessary for a student's health and well-being. As stated in the school handbook, a student may possess medication prescribed for asthma for immediate use at the student's discretion, provided the student's parent(s)/guardian(s) have completed and signed a “School Medication Authorization Form.
