LIFESAVERS Mission Statement

Who or what is LifeSavers?

A teen healthy lifestyles club.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

LifeSavers is an independent, school wide, all-volunteer coalition of students and faculty dedicated to the goal of drug-free youth and overall wellness in a teen training leadership program.

OBJECTIVE

LifeSavers objective is to involve all segments of the high school in the process of prevention and to provide our youth and their families with the information, skills and support necessary for youth to remain drug-free and healthy in overall wellness.

Process for Achievement of Wellness

1.  By conveying a message of hope and promise for the future

2.  By providing healthy alternatives to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs

3.  By providing information for the prevention and intervention of child

     and parent abuse     

4.  By creating an awareness of problems associated with untimely teen

       pregnancies and other teen sexuality problems

5.  By eliminating discrimination because of differences among people

6.  By enhancing the coping and survival skills with respect to peer

       influences, street gangs, suicidal thoughts, career decision making,

       resiliency and other youth-related values and concerns
